Available Scholarships for Illinois Valley

This is a list of those scholarship funds managed by Josephine County Educational Fund (JCEF), Inc. While JCEF has made every effort to be as accurate as possible with descriptions, selection criteria, award amounts offered and selection details, changes may occur during the award cycle. Be aware that while a specific scholarship may be listed, it may not be awarded in this award cycle due to the variables beyond our control.

Unless stated otherwise, ALL scholarships have a deadline of Feb. 9th, 2018. Don’t delay. Get your application in early so it can be critiqued!


128. College Dreams Leadership Scholarship

  • Award: Four $100 scholarships
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior at GPHS, HVHS, IVHS and NVHS.
  • GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Participation in College Dreams program, demonstrated financial need and participation in some kind of leadership activities.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

130. College Dreams Alumni Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, North Valley, Hidden Valley and Illinois Valley High Schools that have participated in the College Dreams Program.
  • Selection Criteria: Student that demonstrates a commitment to paying it forward and performing community service.
  • Use of Funds: May be used at any accredited two or four year colleges, trade or technical schools, or for training in an accredited apprenticeship program. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

325. Amaranthus Family Foundation, Math & Science Scholarship

  • Award: Two $1,500 annual awards- Renewable for 4 Years ($6,000 total value)
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools.
  • GPA: 3.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants majoring in math or science at an accredited two or four year college or university. Selection preference is given to applicants who are children or grandchildren of current employees of Mycorrhizal Applications, retirees, recent past employees, associates or suppliers of the Grants Pass-based company.
  • Use of Funds:  Award may also be used for books and required class supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.
  • Renewal ProcessStudents are eligible for renewal if a minimum 3.0 GPA is maintained.  Include an unofficial transcript for academic year just completed. It should clearly include your name, school name, school’s mailing address and student ID number. Also, provide college registration documentation for the new academic year with your renewal request.

329. Busch Family Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley, North Valley, Rogue River or Glendale High Schools to attend an accredited college, school or university with an emphasis in Business or Finance.
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Student who best exemplifies leadership in service to others, scholastic ability, and good character. Demonstrates participation in their church.

  • About the Scholarship: Established to honor Bob and Sodelbia Busch, active participants in the community and church since 1952, as well as Co-founder and Treasurer of JCEF.


335. Savannah Bassett Memorial Award

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Illinois Valley High School
  • Selection Criteria: The recipient will have demonstrated a commitment to the community, whether that be to his/her school 'community' or outside volunteer activities, or a combination of both.
  • Use of Funds: Cash award presented at the scholarship award ceremony.
  • About This Scholarship: Savannah Bassett was a student who knew how to give back to her school and community. She was a varsity cheerleader for three years before joining the Competition Cheer team in her senior year. She was in Swing Choir for four years; a member of Awanas for six years; a teen mentor for the Kindergarten class and regularly volunteered for various community activities. Savannah was well known for her outgoing personality and sharp sense of humor. She was voted "Most Inspirational Team Member" by her Cheer Squad, and was an all-around good citizen.


336. Helen Betancourt Scholarship

  • Award: Two $1,000 awards annually
  • Eligibility Graduating senior from Josephine County
  • Selection CriteriaOne scholarship is to be awarded to a male, and one to a female. Applicants must be planning to attend a college, university or vocational school of their choice, demonstrate financial need and satisfy eligibility requirements stated above.

  • About this Scholarship: This is a student scholarship fund designated by the Grants Pass-based Four Way Community Foundation, from the Estate of Helen Betancourt who died in 1995. Grant administration is under the direction of the Josephine County Educational Fund (JCEF).


339. Caveman Kiwanis Club Scholarship

  • Award: Four $1,250 awards annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass High School, Hidden Valley High School, Illinois Valley High School and North Valley High
  • GPA: 3.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Proof of community service projects. Need is also a consideration for this award. Preference for attendance at an Oregon college.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

340. Chinese Heritage - Additional Essay Required

  • Award: $300
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors in Josephine County
  • Selection Criteria: Write a required typed essay of 300 words or less addressing the following question: Describe an experience or circumstance in which ethnic diversity had a meaningful impact on you.

  • About the Scholarship: Established in January 1988 by Dr. Rosemary C. Lee Selinger to honor the contributions of Chinese pioneer families in Southern Oregon.


343. Children Are Our Future Scholarship

  • Award: $250
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Glendale High School, Illinois Valley, North Valley, or Hidden Valley High Schools
  • Selection Criteria: Applicant must plan to become an elementary school teacher
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

347. Ann & Wirt Cogswell Scholarship

  • Award:  Four $2,000 Awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass High School, North Valley High School, Hidden Valley High School and Illinois Valley High School
  • Selection Criteria: Students must plan to attend a college other than RCC for the first year of college or be working towards a degree at any college (except RCC) in the case of renewal. Students who apply must have a good scholastic record (2.5 GPA requirement), demonstrate financial need, have good citizenship and respect the law. Selection preference will be given to students who have not received other scholarships.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship funds may be used for payment of tuition and fees at any accredited college, university or vocational school at which applicants have been accepted, but must not be planning to attend RCC.* The scholarship must be used in the next academic year and recipients must take at least 9 credits each term.

  • Renewals: The RCC Foundation will continue to administer the Renewal process for Year 2, 3 and 4 of the Ann & Wirt Cogswell Any University Scholarship. Keep in mind that all RCC Foundation correspondence with scholarship recipients is done through email. A renewal application will be emailed. It is each recipients' responsibility to notify RCC Foundation of any email changes from year to year so renewal applications go out on a timely basis.
  • *Note: There is an additional and separate Cogswell scholarship program with awards given specifically for attendance at RCC. These scholarships are available through the RCC Foundation. 349. Jennie Cook Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors in Josephine County that have participated in the performing arts.
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Has shown outstanding participation in artistic and/or technical activities in performing arts. Both school and community involvement are considered. Applicants should be pursuing a career in performing arts.
  • Other Requirements: A letter, program, and/or drama credits should be attached as proof of involvement.

352. Robert Copeland Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School, Hidden Valley High School, Illinois Valley High School or North Valley High School.
  • GPA: Applicants should have a GPA within academic range of 2.0 to 3.2.
  • Selection Criteria:  Planned attendance at an accredited school, college or university upon graduation. Demonstrated proof of co-curricular involvement in school and in the community.

363. Ricky P. Del Fiorentino Memorial Scholarship

  • Award; Four $250 awards annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass High School, North Valley High School, Hidden Valley High School, and Illinois Valley High School.
  • GPA; Must be satisfactory to be accepted at the applicant’s school of choice.
  • Selection Criteria: Plans to attend an accredited post-secondary college, university or technical school and is planning a career in public service, where applicant desires to do a job that gives back to their community in some way. Selection preference shown to applicants with a documented history of volunteer and/or community service.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • About This Scholarship: The Del Fiorentino family established the memorial scholarship in the spring of 2016 to honor the memory of Ricky P. Del Fiorentino, a deputy sheriff in Mendocino County, Calif. who died in the line of duty on March 19, 2014. Ricky was involved in law enforcement for 26 years.


377. Evergreen Federal Bank Scholarship at IVHS

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Graduating Senior from Illinois Valley High School
  • Selection Criteria: Must be a graduating IVHS senior who plans to attend college and major in business/finance. Financial need is a major consideration in recipient selection.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • About the Scholarship:  Evergreen Federal Bank Scholarship at IVHS was established by the Grants Pass-based community bank in April of 2016. It benefits college-bound youth in the Illinois Valley with financial need who are graduates of Illinois Valley High School.


380. First Student Scholarship

  • Award: Three $1,500 Awards Annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors in Three Rivers School District
  • GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: 3.0 or higher GPA; with focus on financial need plus character recommendation. Preference is given to students going to vocational schools or community colleges.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books, needed school supplies including tools or clothing needed for vocational programs, upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

385. Flaming Family Scholarship in Memory of Lucy Flaming

  • Award: Five $1,000 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating Seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley, North Valley or Rogue Rover High Schools.
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: need, academic ability, character and citizenship, involvement in extra-curricular activities and/or work experience.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

394. Raymond Frost Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Illinois Valley High School
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants should plan on a career focus in fields related to agriculture, farming, fisheries and forestry.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • About the Scholarship: Established as a memorial to Raymond Frost, a long-time Illinois Valley resident who owned a logging company and was a farmer. His family asked that awarded scholarships honor an agriculture focus and go to recipients with compatible interests to how Mr. Frost lived his life (fishing, farming and forestry).


395. Julia Frantz Music Scholarship

  • Award: $300
  • Eligibility: Graduating Seniors (Diploma or GED) from Josephine County who plan to attend an accredited college, university or music conservatory.
  • Selection Criteria:  Financial need, school, community or private music instruction and similar factors are considered. Donor selects an annual recipient.
  • Other Requirements: Include a letter of reference or recommendation from the applicant's music teacher.
  • Use of Funds: The scholarship may be used for music lessons, music books, practice room expenses or similar needs as well as payment of tuition and/or fees at recipient's chosen college, university or music conservatory. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. All other eligible expenses are reimbursable upon presentation of receipts to JCEF.

  • About the Scholarship: Established in 2006 by Marjorie Gallagher on behalf of the Rogue Valley Music Teachers Association (OMTA), the award was named in honor of Julia Frantz, a long-time music teacher at GPHS.


405. Mike Grant Memorial Wrestling Scholarship

  • Award: $1000
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools who are wrestling athletes.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants have completed four seasons of high school wrestling, plan to pursue post-secondary education and participate in collegiate wrestling.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • About the Scholarship: Memorial scholarship established in 2004 in memory of Mike Grant, an accomplished wrestler from the GP Class of 1966.


407. Grants Pass Genealogical Society - Additional Essay required

  • Award: $500
  • EligibilityGraduating Senior from Josephine County, Rogue River or Glendale High Schools. 
  • GPA: 3.0 or above GPA required.
  • Selection Criteria: Demonstrate community involvement via participation in community service with plans to attend an accredited college or university with an emphasis in History or Library Science.
  • Additional CriteriaHand write a 500-word essay on “The Importance of Family History Research
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

408. Grants Pass Active Club

  • Award: Multiple $750 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools who are in the top 10% of the class.
  • Selection Criteria: Academics, activities, and proof of service to the community are the main criteria for this scholarship. Recipients must also be good all-around students. Special consideration is given to students who fall through the cracks or, who may not be eligible for need-based financial aid because family income is deemed too high.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

409. Grants Pass Clinic

  • Award: Three $3,000 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools
  • GPA: 2.75 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Interest in pursuing a health care career. Planning to attend an accredited two or four year college, community college, or technical school.
  • Other Requirements: A signed income verification form may be required from recipients of the award.

412. Grants Pass Kiwanis Club Scholarship

  • Award: Eight $1,000 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools.
  • GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Academics, activities, and proof of service to the community are the main criteria for this scholarship. Recipients must be a good all-around students. Preference shown to Key Club members for selective Key Club scholarships awarded by the club.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

414. Grants Pass/Douglas County Assoc. of Realtors

  • Award: Four $500 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley, North Valley and Rogue Rover High Schools.
  • GPA: Overall GPA of 2.0 and above, with at least a 3.0 GPA and above in vocational courses
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants plan a career in the vocational or technical fields and have taken vocational technology courses. Must include one reference from a vocational tech teacher.
  • Use of Funds: May be used at any accredited two or four year colleges, trade or technical schools, or for training in an accredited apprenticeship program. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

435. Grants Pass Rotary Club- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: Four $2,000 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools.
  • Selection Criteria:  Scholastic achievement, community service, school activities and work experience.   
  • Other Requirements: Include a personally written essay of approximately 500 words relating to the application of Rotary’s Four-Way Test as it applies to the student’s life. The Four-Way Test of things we say and do is as follows: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendship? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? 
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

437. Grants Pass Zonta Foundation Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: One $1500 renewable award up to four years totaling $6,000
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Josephine County
  • GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Female student of academic promise who plans to major in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related field.  Evidence of need is not required but may be considered.
  • Use of Funds: Any two or four-year accredited college, university or technical school of applicant’s choice. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees.
  • Redemptionhttps://jocoeducationalfund.org/jcef-contact-information/request-scholarship-funds/The scholarship must be requested and used in the next academic year following its award. Students must be registered for 12 or more credits (full-time vs. part-time) each quarter or semester.
  • Renewal ProcessStudents are eligible for renewal if a minimum 3.0 GPA is maintained.  Include an unofficial transcript for academic year just completed. It should clearly include your name, school name, school’s mailing address and student ID number. Also, provide college registration documentation for the new academic year with your renewal request.
  • About the Scholarship: Established in 2016 by the Zonta Foundation and Zonta Club of Grants Pass, the club’s mission is to improve women’s lives through service and advocacy. The Grants Pass Zonta Foundation Memorial Scholarship honors past Zontians who died while active members of Zonta Club of Grants Pass.


449. Dual High School/Associate Degree Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Josephine County that has satisfied the requirements for an earned Associate of Science Degree or Associate of Applied Science Degree in any field of study at Rogue Community College. This scholarship is not for the Oregon Transfer Degree or Oregon Transfer Module.
  • Required Documentation for this scholarship: You must include a document from RCC Registrar's Office or RCC Counseling which confirms that you are on track to graduate. This is in lieu of attaching the RCC application for graduation form to your packet which can't be completed until Spring.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

451. Josephine County Home Builders Association Scholarship

  • Award: Up to $2500, competitively renewable for 4 years
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior (diploma or GED) from Josephine County that has been a resident for a minimum of three years planning to become a tradesperson
  • GPA: 2.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Career goals, academic achievement, employment history and financial need will be considered.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship may be used to gain degree, certification or licensure in a trade field. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or program for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books, supplies, and pre-approved employment related expenses upon presentation of receipts/syllabus to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • Renewal Process: Scholarship is competitively renewable on an annual basis. Renewal is based upon satisfactory progress in trade program/education. Contact JCEF for renewal application in July of each year.


465. IVHS Alumni & Friends Scholarship

  • Award: Three $3,000 scholarships
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Illinois Valley High School
  • GPA: 2.5 GPA and above
  • Selection Criteria: Planned attendance at an accredited college, university, vocational or technical school and academic performance (GPA considered). Must include IVHS teacher recommendation forms/letters.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

469. Josephine County Master Gardeners- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior (Diploma or GED) from Josephine County
  • GPA: 2.5 and above

  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants interested in pursuing a medical career which involves direct patient contact. Such career paths would include physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) physician assistants (PA’s), nurse practitioners (NP’s) and physical therapists. As doctors and nurses are in shortest supply in our area, those applications are of special interest. Additional consideration to need, GPA, class rank, quality of biography, evidence of success in such sciences as biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and emergency medicine at the high school level, and SAT scores.

  • About this Scholarship: Established by the Kightlinger Family, the scholarship honors the memory of Marcy Anne, a HVHS senior who was killed in a car accident. She was active in drama, performing in plays both at the high school and Barnstormer's Theater. The Barnstormer's Theater holds an annual festival in Marcy's name as a fundraiser.

  • About the Scholarship: First established in 2014 by the Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue in Josephine County. The four independent watershed councils: Bear Creek Watershed Council, Little Butte Creek Watershed Council, Upper Rogue Watershed Association and the Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue merged in 2015.   • About the scholarship: The late Co-Founder of Dutch Bros., Dane Boersma, has continued to have an impact throughout the company and communities to this day. Known as the Wise Man, Dane exemplified what it meant to have integrity, heart and compassion in whatever he did. In honor of Dane, The Wiseman Scholarship was built to recognize the youth in our community who illustrate the same traits and strive to make the world a better place.

  • Award: $300
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from IVHS, NVHS, or HVHS who will be attending an accredited 2-4 year college or university.
  • Selection criteria: Demonstrated academic excellence (high GPA and SAT score), participation in school activities/leadership and community service. Financial need is not a consideration.
  • Selection process: School submits the top five students. Preference shown to sons/daughters of TRSD administrators.

  • Eligibility: Open to seniors at Illinois Valley High School.

Hilgert Scholarship

  • Award: Multiple awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 renewable up to four years.
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Illinois Valley High School, must have attended IVHS for three years.
  • Selection Criteria: Academic performance, SAT scores, financial need and potential will be considered.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship may only be used at a state supported Oregon college or University. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees.
  • Renewal: Scholarship may be renewed annually upon receipt of unofficial academic transcript showing satisfactory academic progress with a 2.0 minimum GPA. If the student brings their GPA above 2.0 they may be re-eligible.


IV Garden Club

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from IVHS
  • GPA: Qualifying range of 2.5 – 3.2 GPA
  • Selection Criteria: Applicant plans to attend a 2-4 year accredited college. Special consideration given to students planning a horticulture major.


IV Lions Club

  • Award: Five $1,000 awards annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from IVHS
  • GPA: 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Selection Criteria: strong community service, financial need and entering a two or four year college.
  • Selection Process: Finalists are interviewed by the Lions Club on expected achievements.
  • Redemption Details: Recipients need to contact the Lions Club to redeem the scholarship. A check will be sent to the college where the recipient has been accepted upon proof of enrollment (usually registration confirmation evidenced by assignment of a student ID number).

IV Senior Center

  • Award: Five $1,000 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating Seniors from IVHS
  • GPA: 3.0-3.5
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants who plan to attend an accredited college or university (not vocational schools), display academic merit, demonstrate financial need and have a documented history of community service.
  • Use of Funds: The donor provides a check to the college/university upon proof of registration.


Jim Brown Athletic/Scholastic Scholarship

  • Award: Two $500 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from IVHS who have played sports
  • GPA: Have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Selection Criteria: Plan to attend an accredited post-secondary college, university or technical school of some kind. Must have played sports for nine out of 12 seasons during high school (available hardship clause on participation requirements).
  • Other Requirements: Pick up supplemental questions in the counseling department.
  • Redemption Process: Recipients receive a check upon proof of school registration. Must submit a thank you letter. Proof of college or post secondary enrollment, postmarked by October 31 of the year the student graduates.


Josephine County Young Farmers - Due April 1

  • Award: Two $750 awards
  • Eligibility: Open to graduating seniors planning a major in an agriculture related field and involved in 4-H and/or FFA. Applicants must participate in the Josephine County Jr. Livestock program.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants must have participated in either 4-H or FFA. Selection preference given to applicants who participate in the Josephine County Jr. Livestock program or have shown animals at the fair.
  • Other instructions: Apply on the JCEF application. Fill it out completely. Don’t leave empty spaces.
  • Deadline: April 1, 2018.

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating IVHS senior athlete
  • GPA: 3.5 GPA
  • Selection Criteria: Meets GPA/academic achievement requirement and has lettered twice in junior and senior years in interscholastic athletics. Financial need is not a factor.
  • Selection Process: The top three students only who meet the criteria are screened by counseling and submitted for donor selection.


Rogue Valley Dental Society

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Open to a graduating senior in one of the four Josephine County High Schools: GP, HV, IV and NV High Schools and Rogue River High School in Jackson County.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants should be interested in a career in the health sciences with a particular interest in the dental field. The scholarship will be awarded based primarily on academic achievement but financial need will also be considered.
  • Selection Process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Rogue Valley Dental Society.
  • Scholarship Award: A Rogue Valley Dental Society member presents the scholarship at the Recipient's school's annual  Scholarship Recognition Event.


Women Of The Moose Health Awareness Scholarship-Chapter 2075 (Merlin)

  • Award: $250 award
  • Eligibility: Open to graduating seniors at the four public high schools in Josephine County  which include Grants Pass High, Hidden Valley High, Illinois Valley High and North Valley High, with an Interest in health and/or medical field professions.
  • GPA: 3.5 minimum GPA required.
  • Selection Criteria: Interest in health or medical field professions.  Majors in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, nutrition, dental hygiene, occupational health and allied health technician areas (such as EMTs, X-ray or lab technicians) are examples of majors that meet the scholarship award criteria. Need is also considered.
  • Selection Process: High school counselors screen and forward applications to the donor for final selection.
