Available Scholarships for Grants Pass

This is a list of those scholarship funds managed by Josephine County Educational Fund (JCEF), Inc. While JCEF has made every effort to be as accurate as possible with descriptions, selection criteria, award amounts offered and selection details, changes may occur during the award cycle. Be aware that while a specific scholarship may be listed, it may not be awarded in this award cycle due to the variables beyond our control.

128. College Dreams Leadership Scholarship

  • Award: Four $100 scholarships
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior at GPHS, HVHS, IVHS and NVHS.
  • GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Participation in College Dreams program, demonstrated financial need and participation in some kind of leadership activities.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

130. College Dreams Alumni Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, North Valley, Hidden Valley and Illinois Valley High Schools that have participated in the College Dreams Program.
  • Selection Criteria: Student that demonstrates a commitment to paying it forward and performing community service.
  • Use of Funds: May be used at any accredited two or four year colleges, trade or technical schools, or for training in an accredited apprenticeship program. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass High School

136. Class of 1936 (Johnny Hampshire Memorial)

  • Award: One $500-$1,000 scholarship
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Student must be willing to learn about, understand and promote as a living memorial, the memory of World War II Flying Tiger Ace, Johnny Hampshire.
  • Selection Process: Up to 3 finalists may be notified to learn about the life of Johnny Hampshire; a recipient is chosen by the class and donor executive committee.

  • About the Scholarship: Established in 1996 by the GPHS Class of 1936 soon after its 60th class reunion. It honors an outstanding former classmate, Captain John (Johnny) Hampshire, who served as a member of the Flying Tigers in the China-Burma theater during World War II. Captain Hampshire was killed in action in May, 1943 over Hangkow, in the Canton region of Japanese-occupied China after completing a successful bombing raid by his squadron.


154. Class of 1954

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduation senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Academics, participation in co-curricular activities, and community service are considered.

156. Class of 1956

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: High moral character, GPA in the top 20% of the graduating class or applicant with a relative in this class. Selection preference may be given to someone going into law enforcement or education.

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduation senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Academics, participation in co-curricular activities, and community service are considered.

164. Class of 1964- Underclassman Award

    • Award: Variable
    • Eligibility: Student in good standing at Grants Pass High School, with a minimum of one year of attendance remaining before graduation. Freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.
    • Selection Process: Recipients are chosen on educational merit with input by members of the Class of 1964.

    • Use of Funds: The scholarship or grant may be used to assist the applicants participation in a personally enriching and/or educational experience. The experience gained through the funded activity will likely assist the recipient to achieve more individually in his/her remaining high school year(s) and help enrich the experiences of the other students. Note: Educational experiences or activities benefitting a group of students may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • About the Scholarship/Grant: The scholarship or grant was established in 1985 from a fund drive donations received after the 20th Class reunion. Past recipients of the class scholarship or grant have received financial assistance to attend band camps, science camps or, given a student or group of students a unique opportunity to participate in artistic, music performance or speech and debate activities.


166. Class of 1966

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Award based on academic merit, volunteer service, and participation in co-curricular activities.

167. Class of 1967

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility Graduating Senior from Grants Pass High School 
  • GPA: 2.0 GPA or above
  • Selection Criteria: This award is to be presented to a top performing student in a specific technical/vocational/career field (to include metal/wood fabrication, computer/electronics, music/art, science/chemistry, business, agriculture); be of good character and has a motivation for success, and is in significant financial need of funding to continue education beyond GPHS.

  • About the Scholarship: In honoring their 50th reunion, the Class of 1967 has established this scholarship fund through donations and fundraising.


322. Aaron Anderson Memorial

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Student who is worthy and has economic need.

  • About the Scholarship: Established by the family of Aaron Anderson to honor his memory. Aaron was a former GPHS principal.


323. Allendale PTA

  • Award: Two $500 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seior from Grants Pass High School who completed full 5th grade at Allendale School
  • Selection Criteria: Awarded on the basis of need as well as merit.

324. Traci Allman Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Student must have been involved with special education programs in some manner, or plan on majoring in special education.

325. Amaranthus Family Foundation, Math & Science Scholarship

  • Award: Two $1,500 annual awards- Renewable for 4 Years ($6,000 total value)
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools.
  • GPA: 3.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants majoring in math or science at an accredited two or four year college or university. Selection preference is given to applicants who are children or grandchildren of current employees of Mycorrhizal Applications, retirees, recent past employees, associates or suppliers of the Grants Pass-based company.
  • Use of Funds:  Award may also be used for books and required class supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.
  • Renewal ProcessStudents are eligible for renewal if a minimum 3.0 GPA is maintained.  Include an unofficial transcript for academic year just completed. It should clearly include your name, school name, school’s mailing address and student ID number. Also, provide college registration documentation for the new academic year with your renewal request.

326. Norman Anderson Memorial

  • Award: $100
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: For a speech or English major. Involvement with speech activities and competition and demonstrated community and school service are also considered. GPA and financial need are not prime considerations in recipient selection.

  • About this Scholarship: Established as a Memorial scholarship by the English department in 1987 to honor Norm Anderson, a longtime drama and speech teacher at GPHS, who was also a past president of the District 7 Education Association.


329. Busch Family Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley, North Valley, Rogue River or Glendale High Schools to attend an accredited college, school or university with an emphasis in Business or Finance.
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Student who best exemplifies leadership in service to others, scholastic ability, and good character. Demonstrates participation in their church.

  • About the Scholarship: Established to honor Bob and Sodelbia Busch, active participants in the community and church since 1952, as well as Co-founder and Treasurer of JCEF.


332. Maxel J. Belnap Memorial Scholarship- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • GPA: 2.0 or higher
  • Selection Criteria: Special consideration will be given to applicants who have: participated in the music or arts program at GPHS, been involved in athletics, participated in Boy Scouts of America or demonstrated other citizenship, service and leadership qualities and have demonstrated character and positive values.
  • Additional RequirementWrite a one or two paragraph typed essay that speaks to the following: Max admired life and lived it full of adventure. How do personally live your life to it's fullest potential? What difference do you want to make in YOUR world?

  • About this Scholarship: The scholarship is established to honor the memory of Maxel J. Belnap, GPHS student who passed away in 2016.


332. Ryan Merker Memorial Scholarship- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • GPA: 2.0 or higher
  • Selection Criteria: Special consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate citizenship and leadership, have overcome a learning disability, been involved in athletics, may have financial need and have demonstrated character and positive values.
  • Additional Requirement: Write a one or two paragraph typed essay that speaks to the following: "Life is an adventure." How do you as a person maximize your own personal life's adventure?

  • About this Scholarship: The scholarship is established to honor the memory of Ryan Merker, a GPHS student who passed away in 2016.


333. Kerm Bennett Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants for this scholarship are to be of high character, admirable study habits, commendable work ethic, have involvement in athletics, and plan to pursue further higher education in teaching and coaching.
  • Other Requirements: At least one recommendation should come from a coach.

  • About the Scholarship: This endowed Memorial scholarship was established by family and friends in 2010 to honor the memory of Kerm Bennett who was a teacher, coach and administrator for many years at GPHS. Mr. Bennett's last position was as superintendent of Grants Pass School District 7.


334. Ernest & Madge Bearss Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: Three $1,000 awards annually, renewable up to four years totaling $4,000 per award
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Participation in co-curricular activities and good citizenship. Must attend a 4-year Oregon state funded university such as: PSU, OSU, UO, SOU, OIT, EOU, WOU or affiliate OHSU.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • Renewal Details: Submit an annual renewal request to JCEF no earlier than July 1 of each new academic year. Write letter describing key accomplishments that year; include a certified copy of college transcript.  Include your name, university of attendance, its mailing address, your student ID number and personal contact information.
  • About the Scholarship: Ernest Bearss graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1931 and was honored in the school's Centennial Hall of Fame that recognized noteworthy alumni of the school's first 100 years. He was honored due to his distinguished military career that spanned 30 years. Bearss fought in World War II with the rank of major and lieutenant colonel. He married Madge Mitchell in 1987 more than a year after this first wife, Vala, died. Madge was born and raised in Ashland. She spent most of her career as a second-grade teacher and retired in 1983 after 46 years of teaching. Ernest died in November, 2009 and Madge died in 2011. With no children, the Bearss left their estate to 10 separate charities including JCEF. The Foundation received the Bearss gift to set up a scholarship for GPHS graduates who plan to further their education by attending an Oregon public university.


336. Helen Betancourt Scholarship

  • Award: Two $1,000 awards annually
  • Eligibility Graduating senior from Josephine County
  • Selection CriteriaOne scholarship is to be awarded to a male, and one to a female. Applicants must be planning to attend a college, university or vocational school of their choice, demonstrate financial need and satisfy eligibility requirements stated above.

  • About this Scholarship: This is a student scholarship fund designated by the Grants Pass-based Four Way Community Foundation, from the Estate of Helen Betancourt who died in 1995. Grant administration is under the direction of the Josephine County Educational Fund (JCEF).


337. Dale Boothe Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: Four $3,000 awards annually, renewable up to four years totaling $12,000
  • GPA: 3.5 and above in applicant's senior year
  • Selection Criteria: Must have financial need.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • Renewal: Maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA in college studies. The recipient must request the scholarship each year and provide a copy of their college transcript to renew the scholarship.
  • About the Scholarship: The Dale Boothe Trust donated $883,000 to JCEF in 2011 for renewable scholarships to college-bound seniors at Grants Pass High School. The first awards were made in 2012 and are ongoing.


339. Caveman Kiwanis Club Scholarship

  • Award: Four $1,250 awards annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass High School, Hidden Valley High School, Illinois Valley High School and North Valley High
  • GPA: 3.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Proof of community service projects. Need is also a consideration for this award. Preference for attendance at an Oregon college.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

340. Chinese Heritage - Additional Essay Required

  • Award: $300
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors in Josephine County
  • Selection Criteria: Write a required typed essay of 300 words or less addressing the following question: Describe an experience or circumstance in which ethnic diversity had a meaningful impact on you.

  • About the Scholarship: Established in January 1988 by Dr. Rosemary C. Lee Selinger to honor the contributions of Chinese pioneer families in Southern Oregon.


341. Geoff Carmichael Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Financial need will be a consideration. Additionally, the recipient will have been a participant in high school athletics. Character, attitude, courage, enthusiasm, and respect for others are more important than academic accomplishments.
  • Additional Requirement: A recommendation from a coach is required.

  • About the Scholarship: Geoff Carmichael was a student at GPHS and excelled in athletics. Geoff lived life to its utmost and is exuberantly remembered by family and friends who established this memorial scholarship to honor his memory.


345. Grace Coates Memorial

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Academics, co-curricular activity/involvement, and need.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

347. Ann & Wirt Cogswell Scholarship

  • Award:  Four $2,000 Awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass High School, North Valley High School, Hidden Valley High School and Illinois Valley High School
  • Selection Criteria: Students must plan to attend a college other than RCC for the first year of college or be working towards a degree at any college (except RCC) in the case of renewal. Students who apply must have a good scholastic record (2.5 GPA requirement), demonstrate financial need, have good citizenship and respect the law. Selection preference will be given to students who have not received other scholarships.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship funds may be used for payment of tuition and fees at any accredited college, university or vocational school at which applicants have been accepted, but must not be planning to attend RCC.* The scholarship must be used in the next academic year and recipients must take at least 9 credits each term.

  • Renewals: The RCC Foundation will continue to administer the Renewal process for Year 2, 3 and 4 of the Ann & Wirt Cogswell Any University Scholarship. Keep in mind that all RCC Foundation correspondence with scholarship recipients is done through email. A renewal application will be emailed. It is each recipients' responsibility to notify RCC Foundation of any email changes from year to year so renewal applications go out on a timely basis.
  • *Note: There is an additional and separate Cogswell scholarship program with awards given specifically for attendance at RCC. These scholarships are available through the RCC Foundation. 349. Jennie Cook Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors in Josephine County that have participated in the performing arts.
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Has shown outstanding participation in artistic and/or technical activities in performing arts. Both school and community involvement are considered. Applicants should be pursuing a career in performing arts.
  • Other Requirements: A letter, program, and/or drama credits should be attached as proof of involvement.

350. Charles & Emma Lou Cooley Memorial

  • Award: Variable, up to 6 awards annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Need, talent, character and citizenship.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

352. Robert Copeland Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School, Hidden Valley High School, Illinois Valley High School or North Valley High School.
  • GPA: Applicants should have a GPA within academic range of 2.0 to 3.2.
  • Selection Criteria:  Planned attendance at an accredited school, college or university upon graduation. Demonstrated proof of co-curricular involvement in school and in the community.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

358. Ken Daugherty Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $300
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants must attend the University of Oregon. Preference given to architecture majors first, business majors second, and any other major is third.
  • Use of Funds: Funds only eligible to be used at University of Oregon. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • About This Scholarship: The Del Fiorentino family established the memorial scholarship in the spring of 2016 to honor the memory of Ricky P. Del Fiorentino, a deputy sheriff in Mendocino County, Calif. who died in the line of duty on March 19, 2014. Ricky was involved in law enforcement for 26 years.

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior (Diploma or GED) from Josephine County
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Consideration given to students who plan to study horticulture, agronomy, botany, agricultural sciences, plant and environmental science or other green-related majors. High school classes and subjects taken, college and career goals, extra-curricular activities and community services are also important. Financial need and merit are also taken into consideration.
  • Additional Requirement: Include a one-page typed essay on your choice of vocation or profession. Also address how you have planned for the future and how your education will influence that future.
  • Use of Funds: Applicant must be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, community college, or trade school in a degree program-taking at least 12 credits per term or planning to take a minimum of 12 credits.   • Award: Four $1,000 awards
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley and North Valley High Schools.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants interested in pursuing a medical career which involves direct patient contact. Such career paths would include physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) physician assistants (PA’s), nurse practitioners (NP’s) and physical therapists. As doctors and nurses are in shortest supply in our area, those applications are of special interest. Additional consideration to need, GPA, class rank, quality of biography, evidence of success in such sciences as biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and emergency medicine at the high school level, and SAT scores.

  • About this Scholarship: Established by the Kightlinger Family, the scholarship honors the memory of Marcy Anne, a HVHS senior who was killed in a car accident. She was active in drama, performing in plays both at the high school and Barnstormer's Theater. The Barnstormer's Theater holds an annual festival in Marcy's name as a fundraiser.

  • Other Requirement: Essay  Scott's life was marked by unchecked explosions of curiosity and enthusiasm. Even the ugly parts he would take on with irreverent humor, in hope for future change. His ability to influence and empower others was as great with strangers as with friends, with peers as with adults.  People who knew him recognized these traits as extremely rate and valuable. 653. Regina L. Smalley Scholarship

  • Award: Variable
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from grants Pass High School residing in a single family home at the time of application.
  • GPA: 3.0 and above
  • Selection Criteria: GPA/good academics, financial need and planned attendance at a post-secondary educational institution.
  • Selection Process: JCEF-GPHS Scholarship committee selects a worthy recipient and provides donor with recipient selection details.
  • Use of Funds: The $600 award is given in two increments: $300 in fall; $300 in the spring providing the student has a minimum of a C+ or 2.5 average in her college work. Awards will be paid directly to the institution attended, or upon submission of paid receipts, the recipient will be reimbursed for books, school supplies, or tuition/fees.


655. Eunice Smith Award

  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants must have been a member of the Special Education Program during his/her tenure in Grants Pass School District #7 and plan to attend an institution of higher learning in Oregon. Academic performance, personality, co-curricular involvement and need are considered in selection.

  • Award: Two $500 Awards or one $1,000 Award
  • Eligibility: Graduating Seniors in Josephine County
  • GPA: Meets acceptance requirements of the recipients' chosen college, technical school or university.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants should seek to pursue a career in natural resource management preferably fisheries biology, wildlife biology, hydrology but also including environmental science, environmental studies, forestry, environmental engineering, etc.

  • About the Scholarship: First established in 2014 by the Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue in Josephine County. The four independent watershed councils: Bear Creek Watershed Council, Little Butte Creek Watershed Council, Upper Rogue Watershed Association and the Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue merged in 2015. The new name for the unified is Rogue River Watershed Council.  The 501 (c) (3) non profit works to restore instream and streamside habitat, improve water quality and encourages members to become stewards of the Rogue River and its tributaries.   • About the Scholarship: Established originally in 1984 as the Music Directors Award, the scholarship was an annual award to an outstanding Orchestra student. To allow the fund balance to grow faster with combined earnings, the scholarship was renamed in July of 2012 and funds were merged with the Grants Pass Orchestra Tamura Award.
    • Haruki Tamura, a Japanese foreign exchange student, won the Academic Masters Award for Music in 1985 and donated his $1,000 prize to GPHS Foundation to establish a music scholarship.
    • Gary DeRoest was a long-term outstanding Orchestra Director at GPHS in the 1990’s. This award honors the contributions of both individuals.

  • Selection Criteria:  Strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity is a requirement. Demonstrated interest in science, especially directed towards caring for the earth and health of the world's oceans would be a strong emphasis. Grades or need are not may be taken into consideration.

  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley, North Valley and Rogue River High Schools.
  • Selection Criteria: Academic achievement, financial need, school activities and extra-curricular activities.  Eligible students may be choosing a traditional academic major or plan to pursue a trade or technical career at an accredited vocational school.
  • Use of Funds: Recipients may use the award at any accredited vocational school as well as any accredited college or university at which they have been accepted. Linda was a longtime teacher and Principal at Highland Elementary School in Grants Pass. 735. Wiseman Scholarship- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: Four $1,000 awards annually
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass High School, North Valley High School, Hidden Valley High School or Illinois Valley High School
  • GPA: 2.0 or higher GPA
  • Selection Criteria: Must have attended all four years of high school within Josephine County, demonstrate extracurricular involvement, illustrate integrity, and not have received more than two other scholarships.

  • About the Scholarship:  This memorial scholarship was established by the Zottola family in 2015 to honor the memories of Robert Zottola and Verna Zottola-Scott. Verna Zottola-Scott graduated from GPHS in 1972; she participated in student council, choir, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Pep Club. Her brother, Robert, graduated from North Valley High School in 1983 and had a daughter and son who graduated from GPHS in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Robert frequently volunteered at GPHS as a team parent for multiple sports, was an ASPIRE mentor, and annually presented at Career Day. Both Verna and Robert were creative, intelligent, hard workers, and they both had a great sense of humor. Though they achieved professional successes, their greatest pride came through their relationships as loyal and loving children, siblings, friends, spouses, and especially parents. Verna and Robert both died due to long-term complications from treatments for Hodgkins Disease.


Criswell Scholarship

  • Award: Several $500 scholarships
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors at Grants Pass High School.
  • Selection Criteria: Need is an especially important factor in the judging for this scholarship. Selection preference is given to students attending Oregon State University.
  • The scholarships may be renewable for up to a total of four years if the recipient re-applies, and the donor’s scholarship committee agrees the quality of college work warrants such recognition.
  • Renewal criteria: GPA must be 3.0 or better.


Grants Pass Association of Classified Employees

  • Award: Variable, multiple
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from GPHS
  • GPA: Must have a GPA of at least 2.0
  • Selection Criteria: Open to graduating seniors who are children of members of the Association.
  • Application: Use JCEF application and submit it to the Association Committee through the student’s school no later than April 15th.
  • Redemption Process: Scholarship payment is made directly to the college after a class schedule/registration and signed voucher is submitted to the Association Treasurer.


Josephine County Young Farmers - Due April 1

  • Award: Two $750 awards
  • Eligibility: Open to graduating seniors planning a major in an agriculture related field and involved in 4-H and/or FFA. Applicants must participate in the Josephine County Jr. Livestock program.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants must have participated in either 4-H or FFA. Selection preference given to applicants who participate in the Josephine County Jr. Livestock program or have shown animals at the fair.
  • Other instructions: Apply on the JCEF application. Fill it out completely. Don’t leave empty spaces.
  • Deadline: April 1, 2018.

Rogue Valley Dental Society

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Open to a graduating senior in one of the four Josephine County High Schools: GP, HV, IV and NV High Schools and Rogue River High School in Jackson County.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants should be interested in a career in the health sciences with a particular interest in the dental field. The scholarship will be awarded based primarily on academic achievement but financial need will also be considered.
  • Selection Process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Rogue Valley Dental Society.
  • Scholarship Award: A Rogue Valley Dental Society member presents the scholarship at the Recipient's school's annual  Scholarship Recognition Event.


Women Of The Moose Health Awareness Scholarship-Chapter 2075 (Merlin)

  • Award: $250 award
  • Eligibility: Open to graduating seniors at the four public high schools in Josephine County  which include Grants Pass High, Hidden Valley High, Illinois Valley High and North Valley High, with an Interest in health and/or medical field professions.
  • GPA: 3.5 minimum GPA required.
  • Selection Criteria: Interest in health or medical field professions.  Majors in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, nutrition, dental hygiene, occupational health and allied health technician areas (such as EMTs, X-ray or lab technicians) are examples of majors that meet the scholarship award criteria. Need is also considered.
  • Selection Process: High school counselors screen and forward applications to the donor for final selection.
