329. Busch Family Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Grants Pass, Hidden Valley, Illinois Valley, North Valley, Rogue River or Glendale High Schools to attend an accredited college, school or university with an emphasis in Business or Finance.
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Student who best exemplifies leadership in service to others, scholastic ability, and good character. Demonstrates participation in their church.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

343. Children Are Our Future Scholarship

  • Award: $250
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Glendale High School, Illinois Valley, North Valley, or Hidden Valley High Schools
  • Selection Criteria: Applicant must plan to become an elementary school teacher
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

407. Grants Pass Genealogical Society - Additional Essay required

  • Award: $500
  • EligibilityGraduating Senior from Josephine County, Rogue River or Glendale High Schools. 
  • GPA: 3.0 or above GPA required.
  • Selection Criteria: Demonstrate community involvement via participation in community service with plans to attend an accredited college or university with an emphasis in History or Library Science.
  • Additional CriteriaHand write a 500-word essay on “The Importance of Family History Research
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

439. Tony Guillory Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $500 renewable up to 8 years (4 years undergraduate education, 4 years graduate education)
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior from Josephine County, Glendale, or Rogue River.
  • Selection Criteria: Must be planning to pursue a career as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Preference given to students with demonstrated community service working with animals. Academic performance, community involvement, and extra-curricular activities are also considered.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

  • Renewal Details: Submit an annual renewal request by July 24th of each year to JCEF. Renewal contingent upon continued pursuit of a career as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and satisfactory academic progress. Renewal request must include copy of unofficial college transcript, college registration documentation for the new academic year, and a letter describing key accomplishments that year.


515. Rogue Valley Detachment #386 Marine Corps League Scholarship

  • Award: One $500 Award
  • Eligibility: Graduating seniors in Josephine County and Rogue River
  • Selection Criteria: At least one parent, legal guardian or grandparent who is an active duty or honorably discharged veteran from any branch of the US military. Former Young Marine members from the Rogue Valley, Camp White or Southern Oregon Young Marine units are also eligible to apply. An applicant's academic record, character, citizenship, leadership and financial need are all taken into consideration.
  • Use of Funds: Any accredited institution the recipient is attending full time.  Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

566. Nugget Baseball

  • Award: $250
  • Eligibility Graduating Senior from Josephine County, Rogue River or Glendale
  • GPA: 2.5 or above
  • Selection Criteria: Played varsity baseball, has demonstrated leadership in co-curricular activities,  and is involved in community service.
  • Use of Funds: Any accredited community college, university, or trade school program. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients' college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.

Barbara L. Weaver-Godsey Memorial Scholarship - Due by March 15, 2018

  • One $650 scholarship to a graduating senior from Douglas County who is planning on entering the field of education.
  • Applications may be requested from Mary Weaver at the Barbara L. Weaver-Godsey Scholarship Fund.  Contact her at this number: 541-672-3452 or send written request to: Barbara L. Weaver-Godsey Scholarship Fund, 5493 Old Melrose Rd., Roseburg, OR 97471.
  • Completed applications must be mailed on or before March 15 to the address above.
  • Winners will be notified no later than April 30.
  • Awards may be used at any accredited school of higher education in the US or its territories.

Cow Creek Scholarship to UCC

  • The Cow Creek Board of Directors offers a $1,500 scholarship to each high school in Douglas County for one student to attend Umpqua Community College.
  • Each high school will choose a recipient who meets the following characteristics: Scholastic effort and commitment (no minimum GPA required), potential to do college-level work, good citizenship and behavior, motivation and industriousness.
  • Application: there is no application. If you are interested in being considered, contact your school counselor or advisor.
  • Student nominations from each high school are due in early April.


Oregon Hunters Association- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: Two $1,500 scholarships
  • Eligibility: Open to public high school, private and home schooled students in Josephine County. Applicants from Glendale High School and Rogue River High School are also encouraged to apply as those communities are considered to be served by OHA's Josephine County's chapter who have an interest in hunting or whose families have a tradition of hunting activities.
  • GPA: 3.0 or above
  • Selection Criteria: Leadership skills, community activities, work experience, and extracurricular participation are considered. Applicants must be in a field of study that aligns with OHA's mission. Fields of study may include (but are not limited to): fish & wildlife, wildlife biology, forestry, environmental policy and planning, environmental law, public lands management, wildlife law enforcement, natural resources.
  • Additional Requirements: Include a 1-3 page essay selecting one of the below options:
    • Explain how you would protect Oregon's Wildlife Habitat/
    • Explain how you would promote and protect the hunting heritage of Oregon.
    • Explain the role of hunting and sportsmen in Oregon's wildlife management.
