  • Award: Two $500 Awards or one $1,000 Award
  • Eligibility: Graduating Seniors in Josephine County
  • GPA: Meets acceptance requirements of the recipients’ chosen college, technical school or university.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants should seek to pursue a career in natural resource management preferably fisheries biology, wildlife biology, hydrology but also including environmental science, environmental studies, forestry, environmental engineering, etc.
  • Use of Funds: Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients’ college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.
  • About the Scholarship: First established in 2014 by the Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue in Josephine County. The four independent watershed councils: Bear Creek Watershed Council, Little Butte Creek Watershed Council, Upper Rogue Watershed Association and the Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue merged in 2015.  The new name for the unified organization is the Rogue River Watershed Council. The 501c3 non profit works to restore instream and streamside habitat, improve water quality and encourages members to become stewards of the Rogue River and its tributaries.
