469. Josephine County Master Gardeners- Additional Essay Required

  • Award: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Graduating senior (Diploma or GED) from Josephine County
  • GPA: 2.5 and above
  • Selection Criteria: Consideration given to students who plan to study horticulture, agronomy, botany, agricultural sciences, plant and environmental science or other green-related majors. High school classes and subjects taken, college and career goals, extra-curricular activities and community services are also important. Financial need and merit are also taken into consideration.
  • Additional Requirement: Write an essay, up to 500 words, on your choice of vocation or profession. Also address how you have planned for the future and how your education will influence that future.
  • Use of Funds: Applicant must be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, community college, or trade school in a degree program-taking at least 12 credits per term or planning to take a minimum of 12 credits. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients’ college or university for payment of tuition and fees. Award may also be used for books and needed school supplies upon presentation of receipts to JCEF for reimbursement.
