395. Julia Frantz Music Scholarship

  • Award: Variable (minimum of $250)
  • Eligibility: Graduating Seniors (Diploma or GED) from Josephine County who plan to attend an accredited college, university or music conservatory.
  • Selection Criteria:  Financial need, school, community or private music instruction and similar factors are considered.
  • Other Requirements: Include a letter of reference or recommendation from the applicant’s music teacher.
  • Use of Funds: The scholarship may be used for music lessons, music books, practice room expenses or similar needs as well as payment of tuition and/or fees at recipient’s chosen college, university or music conservatory. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients’ college or university for payment of tuition and fees. All other eligible expenses are reimbursable upon presentation of receipts to JCEF.
  • About the Scholarship: Established in 2006 by Marjorie Gallagher on behalf of the Rogue Valley Music Teachers Association (OMTA), the award was named in honor of Julia Frantz, a long-time music teacher at GPHS.
